Surface Book 3 - external keyboard and mouse

I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it.  I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.

With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes.  Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.

I know others have seen this problem.  It should be easy to reproduce.  Can someone from Microsoft try this please.

This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

A fix for this issue is now available through Windows Update. Please review the Surface Book 3 Update History page.

The issue reliably occurs even when there are no devices plugged into USB sockets on the dock, and the keyboard is plugged directly into the SB3. I tested that early on. If it was a problem with USB configuration it wouldn't go away with the simple workaround of keeping the CPU busy, which it does.

    I have an SB3 13 i7 32Gb.

I also have intermitiant issues with USB devices. (Keyboars ans mouse).

I switched to a Bluetooth mouse and its perfect.

I also have similar logs in the events.

My biggest issue, however, is overheating CPU.

And when the temps are high, it seems to make the USB issues worse. (I dont think i encounter USB issues in battery power).

on battery, my CPU is running at 75degreees C

When its charging though, it jumps up to 100deg C very soon after, even on lowest performance mode.

Does anyone have this USB issues combined with overheating?

I am not sure. My keyboard has been ok for hours after just moving SB3 away from dock (SB3 is 50 cm higher and 30 cm away from dock's right side). My setting:

    1. Only one SB3 USB port is used for wireless mouse.
    2. My wire keyboard is connected through dock.
    3. External monitor comes through dock as well. SB3 screen is off.
    4. SB3 cover is opened.
    5. Driver was updated a few days ago.

My problem seems to reliably occur when i have MUSIC playing (streaming via bbc or youtube) to my sony bluetooth headphones.

When I just have them connected to bluetooth without audio playing (just the odd email / teams notification etc) I get no issue at all.

    I have:

    SB3 15" i7 32 GB

Logi bluetooth keyboard and mouse with dongle in SB3 USB port.

    Surface dock 1

    2 HDMI monitors to dock

No USB devices ever (rarely) in the dock.

Dock is positioned at least 30-40cm away from SB3.

SB3 screen is usually open in tablet mode as a third screen.

All of the exact same set up worked with no issue on the SB1.
