Surface Book 3 - external keyboard and mouse

I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it.  I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.

With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes.  Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.

I know others have seen this problem.  It should be easy to reproduce.  Can someone from Microsoft try this please.

This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

A fix for this issue is now available through Windows Update. Please review the Surface Book 3 Update History page.

Have couple month old Surface Book 3 w/ 32 gb mem  i7-1065G7 and SSD drive running Windows 10 pro.

When I connected through surface dock to external monitor both my keyboard and MS Bluetooth mouse randomly lock up. Postings said it was the docks fault so I returned and replaced with Surface Dock 2.

Though not as frequent, problem persists, after going through all the worthless steps and testing, I cant find a fix.

Does NOT happen using Targus dock so it is a MICRO$OFT issue.

MS tech offered to help for money. Ridiculous since this is all new MS gear.

Note usually happens when I have mouse on second screen but that might just be since I spend most of my time on the larger screen.

    :(

If you connect an Arduino, USB serial port or USB Ethernet adaptor and stream data the stuttering happens more often.

I found a Logitech K380 BT keyboard lying around, and I've been testing it the past few days and have not been able to reproduce the issue with it. Maybe since your keyboard is BT/dongle hybrid it still has the problem? I have no idea how this stuff works lol

I want to be certain that BT might actually be a viable means to circumvent the issue before I throw money at it

    Thanks for the thoughts.

All I have plugged in to the dock is the external Samsung monitor and an HP printers. The mouse is a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse connected to Surface's internal Bluetooth.

You have given me the idea to test without the printer and possibly switch out the mouse.

    We will see what happens....................
