I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.
I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

So gang, I went 8 hours today without a freeze. Don't know if they fixed something or if I just got lucky. I was running the same apps as usual but the cad file I had open was a large one with multiple external references, it could be that I was pushing the processor enough to keep it awake.
In answer to Sean, I am using the Surface dock 2 without the PSU.
Will see what happens tomorrow, but I typically lock up anywhere from 5 to 9 times so if I could get to 1 or 2 times it would be a miracle.
Chris
did the problems come back?
Without the PSU the dock is a paperweight? You are using the Surface Dock right?
Moving the dock away did not help in my setup.
I will note, knock on wood, that since my update to 20H2 late last night I have worked 7 hours so far without any issues. Of course now that I said something I will probably go up in smoke.
This was not a surface specific update and no mention is made of issues with power management, so perhaps I have just been lucky.
Crossing fingers.................
