Surface Book 3 - external keyboard and mouse

I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it.  I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.

With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes.  Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.  

I know others have seen this problem.  It should be easy to reproduce.  Can someone from Microsoft try this please.

This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

    I got the following updates today which solved all issues (never installed developper channel):

    After firmware update a lot of devices have been reconized  and I have now brightness control via display port on my monitor connected to my dock2 usb port. My logitech g915/g603 has  no issue at all. after there updates Before issues where always present becasue of the  logitech configuration software (LED control caused keyboard/mouse to stutter/repeat right after booting up).

    Latest update fixed everthing! -> MOUSE & KEYBOARD stuttering/keypress repeating and brightness control over Display Port via DOCK2 for my LG 38" monitor works like a charm, FINALLY I love you MS! :-)

    but it is only fixed in the Developer channel! and the Developer Preview is extreme buggy ... 

    for now i'll use the Logitech dongle. and switch back to Bluetooth when the 21h1 stable Version is released

    Well, there is a thing...

    After returning my SB3 a month ago, I got an XPS13 2-in-1.

    Connected by Ducky ONE2 keyboard.... and the exact same issue happened.

    SO THIS PROBLEM IS NOT EXCLUSIVELY RELATED TO SURFACE BOOK 3.

    Now, after all the great things I wrote about the Surface after using it for 1 month (ignoring the keyboard issue), do I regret returning it?

    I don't know. Sometimes I miss the general feeling of the Surface and the larger screen.

    But those were/are company devices... Maybe I'll get an SB3 (again) this time for personal use.

    Now I'll test this update in the XPS to see if it fixes it. Seems to be something related to HID devices connected via USC-C.

    I have 2. One is for sale with a 3 year extended warranty (accidental damage covrered).  
    Open box. Never used. 

    I can give it to you at a great price.
