I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.
I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

Hi, i seem to have fixed this on my machine by changing
Display settings --> display -- advanced scaling -- let windows try to fix apps so theyre not blury
I switched this off yesterday and not had a recurance
There are two possible workarounds for this.
One is to run in the background a program that keeps the CPU busy.
Another is to create a new power plan for when using the keyboard, switch into it and disable the CPU idle state. It may be also worth it to cap the CPU clock, to avoid consuming too much power, or running into throttling because of device skin temperature. For this, you need the following commands (in elevated mode):
Powercfg /setacvalueindex scheme_current sub_processor procthrottlemax 80
Powercfg /setacvalueindex scheme_current sub_processor idledisable 1
powercfg /S scheme_current
(do not forget to do this outside the standard default power plan)
I see the SB3 has just been released in India. I suspect we'll see some posts from there soon.

Hi Timur,
I couldn't agree with you more. In fact. that's exactly what I told the Microsoft tech I've been working with on this problem. I refused to agree to close out my ticket because a workaround is not a fix!
