I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it. I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.
With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes. Mouse motion ceases then resumes.
I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.
I know others have seen this problem. It should be easy to reproduce. Can someone from Microsoft try this please.
This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

Have you tried using Bluetooth Keyboard and Bluetooth mouse connecting to internal SB3 Bluetooth - not USB dongle. This should act as a workaround.
Meanwhile, back in Redmond there may or may not be people working on resolving this issue but we as customers have absolutely no idea what is going on.

Hi David and others,
I'm a fellow survivor of this USB HID issue and have a support case open with Microsoft.
I was offered a replacement device, but that really feels like more of a hassle than it's worth if the problem still exists on a new device.
So unless they've quietly changed their BOM to address the issue, and the new devices coming out of the factory have a different hardware configuration, I can't see any option other than waiting for a software fix.
The H2 patch was supposed to help, but it didn't.
So I've asked the question: "please confirm that Microsoft are aware of the issue and are working on it"
The replyyyyyyy (*sigh*) I have received is:
*"*We are already aware on this and once there’s new patch available. We will inform you."
So while we still have no public acknowledgement of the problem, it does sound like somebody may be looking into it...
Wouldn't it be refreshing if a Microsoft representative posted a comment confirming this for us and gave us a roadmap for resolution!
I feel positive about 2021 - the year Microsoft sort it out!

Happy New Year everyone.
Should we have a sweepstake to guess if Microsoft will fix this issue and if so when?
David
Do you believe it is time to warranty my device and sell the new one? I do not believe they will give me a refund right because I bought my SB3 in August. It it making university very difficult. All the above problems have happened during my exams and it's really frustrating...

I have unmarked this as an answer to hopefully get one of you to please give us an update. You state this is a known issue and yet it is not included in update notices.
You are NOT keeping people informed about issues impacting customers. Please respond!
David
Typical for Microsoft. We had tons of KNOWN issues with the Surface Book 2 that were never posted there.
