Surface Book 3 - external keyboard and mouse

I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it.  I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.

With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes.  Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.  

I know others have seen this problem.  It should be easy to reproduce.  Can someone from Microsoft try this please.

This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

    I have 2 monitors plugged into the surface dock.  PSU always plugged in.  What I had unplugged was all the USB devices.  The monitors are mini DP connections and those stayed plugged in.  I have now added a usb extension to my wireless keyboard/mouse and it seems to have solved the issue as long as I don't set my headset down near the dongle.

    Yes I have external monitor.

    Here is my setup. The dock is plugged in and supplying power to SB3. Sorry for confusion.

    SB3 i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.30Ghz 1.50

    32BG Ram

    500GB SSD

    Win10 64bit Pro V2004 OS 19041.508

    Feature Pack 120.2212.31.0

    Patched and updated all know drivers

    External Samsung 32" u32j59x connected via dock.

    Network connection through Dock

    HP M452 Printer attached though Dock (problem occurs even if printer NOT attached)

    MS Bluetooth mouse using SB3 internal Bluetooth

    No external keyboard

    I guess where I am confused is... are you running any external monitors when the PSU is not plugged in? When I unplug the PSU on my SD2 the unit is useless. None of the externals work. Monitors USBs etc. 

    Either way, I am going to talk with MS later today. I assume nothing will change. I plan on starting the return process.  Switching over to the Dell New XPS 15 touch. I am really broken-hearted about it cause I really like this device as a laptop but I have to dock for a good part of the day.

    David,

    I installed the update.  It is still doing the ssssssssssssssssssssa, same thing.  I am typing from the wireless keyboard as you can see it is acting up.  I did unplug all other usb devices from surface doc and it is significantly better, but still having issues.

    Back to the drawing board.  Guess I try the usb extension device next......
