Surface Book 3 - external keyboard and mouse

I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it.  I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.

With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes.  Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have a video of the mouse re I continuously move the mouse in a circle

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.

I know others have seen this problem.  It should be easy to reproduce.  Can someone from Microsoft try this please.

This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

A fix for this issue is now available through Windows Update. Please review the Surface Book 3 Update History page.

To be fair, they didn't say it would fix it.  I still have a ticket open and I will not close it until it is fixed.

I have been told it will be fixed via update but no timeframe.

I wouod love to belive them, but its kind of hard to have any faith in a company that made an underpowered AC adapter for surface book 2. Non working 200 dlar docking station. Etc. etc.

This issues is almost 6 months old.

Selling it, and going back to a trustworthy MacBook.

This is an on going issue.  Microsoft are apparently working on a fix but when it is likely to be resolved.....who knows.

Switching to Bluetooth keyboard and mouse is a workaround.

Light. You just need to keep the CPU active. Running on medium or full will chew up more processor time and lead to hotter temps, and no further benefit to resolving this issue.

The issue reliably occurs even when there are no devices plugged into USB sockets on the dock, and the keyboard is plugged directly into the SB3. I tested that early on. If it was a problem with USB configuration it wouldn't go away with the simple workaround of keeping the CPU busy, which it does.
