Surface Book 3 - external keyboard and mouse

I have a SB3 connected to a Surface Dock which has FullHD touch monitor, USB keyboard and mouse connected to it.  I have used this setup without any issues for over 2 years with Surface Laptop 1.

With the SB3 the keyboard and mouse 'stutter' meaning characters are lost or autorepeat due to missing down or up codes.  Mouse motion ceases then resumes.

I have tried plugging the mouse into one of the SB3 USB ports and get the same result.  

I know others have seen this problem.  It should be easy to reproduce.  Can someone from Microsoft try this please.

This looks to be a level USB message handling problem. Note that the USB is not unloading.

    Perhaps that's the reality but they certainly have changed the package name because I've downloaded 3 different versions since purchasing this thing in August:

    SurfaceBook3_Win10_18362_20.083.37048.0.msi (current)

    SurfaceBook3_Win10_18362_20.080.5654.0.msi

    SurfaceBook3_Win10_18362_20.051.9924.0.msi

    But maybe that's all that changed :-(

    Me too. Seemed OK, it seems 'harder' to trigger (none of my usual tests would reproduce it) - but it definitely still occurs, mouse and keyboard (now it's just random).

    Also, this is after a clean reset back to 1909, updated drivers. Encountered the issue after an hour of good use. Then for the hell of it I installed the current Nvidia drivers too. It was about 30 minutes before it happened again.

    I'm going to go back to using my basic keyboard. But I think I'm done with this.

    Doesn’t look like those are new drivers. They just updated something on the page. If you check the Update Detail, nothing has changed recently as far as firmware goes.
