There was a MS Surface update KB5029263 yesterday, but no change i.e. fault still exists. I don't know if MS is investigating the problem.
Surface Pro X, Issues with Google Maps
I am using:
Device name *******
Processor Microsoft SQ1 @ 3.0 GHz 3.00 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.54 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor
Pen and touch Pen and touch support with 10 touch points
Recently, after an update, when using Google maps, the names of the locations disappear.
Initially the maps shows all the detail
But few seconds later when everything is loaded, the town names disappear:
I thought this was a Chrome issue, thus cleared the cache etc. but this not fixed the issue.
I then tried different browsers MS Edge and Firefox. They all have the same issue.
I contacted Google and provided the above info, but they believe this is o/s issue and suggested I contact MS.
Is anyone able suggest how I can fixed this problem?

2023-08-13T06:20:30+00:00 Hi Lavenia A.
I have the same problem like the other users described, also on a Surface, browsers used: Chrome, Firefox and Edge, after a few seconds the texts like road names and town names disappear.
A good hint in my case was from PaulFenton, to disable hardware acceleration. But the performance on Google Maps is quite slow, nearly unusable. It seems to be a problem in this direction? Can you therefore please dig a bit deeper and maybe also connect with Google to solve the problem? I guess there are many Surface owners around the world and are dealing with the same problem.
Thank you very much

2023-08-04T17:34:27+00:00 Yes removing the ttu has the same impact for me too.
When I search for something that has a map associated with it and click on the map, there are no issue, i.e. all the names etc are visible, as soon as I you do anything else they labels disappear.

2023-08-04T14:59:14+00:00 I have the same issue. It is happening on Chrome and Edge. It happened a few weeks ago and I believe it coincided with an OS update for Surface. Have tried everything suggested and more. There is a bug fix needed on the surface OS.
Further clarification, when first attempting to access:
www.maps.google.com - street names appear and it looks like all is well; however, several seconds later, the URL is appended with: https://www.google.com/maps/@40.927232,-74.022912,14z?entry=ttu - and street names disappear. If you remove the ?entry=ttu - street names reappear, then the ?entry=ttu returns and street names disappear
I have attempted to turn off AND turn on maps access to navigation. I have attempted to turn cellular data off.
