This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

there is a link to get a folder with all the file to restore the firmware and get the surface back to start up... You only need to read trough it carefully and just scroll it
Should have MS acted quickly and not 6 months after the firmware release? yes
Should they have officially announced that it is a known issue? probably yes
is it normal that the only way to know that they will replace it with a refurbished one is this post? definitely not
this post is now escalating with no reason, if we keep it that way it will be closed soon....
Hi pier,
I agree there is no way of knowing if I got a new tablet or I got a refurb, but it is a question of customer service to know because of warranty. If new it should have a warranty but I have received no paperwork or explanation of how this has been dealt with. Qed it must be a refurb not least because it came in a none ms box. If they take this stream down then they just do not want to learn from experienced people who expect a minimum of customer service. I agree people are expressing there anger but that is natural do the frustration due to time spent trying to figure this out.
Does the usb drive thing actual fix the firmware update, not reformatting everything. I ask them to send me a usb drive. I don't have a usb-c one around! Anyway, there is other ways, but all of them require me to buy something in order to fix something that I didn't break.
Can anyone confirm that it actually works. So I can go and get a usb drive, and remember to never buy anything from MS again. If it is at all possible.
!!!!!
