Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

I am experiencing the same issue. My surface go is out of warranty, so Microsoft won't even pick up the phone. There is no way for me to explain the issue to a human here in France. No ticketing system, no chat system, and the phone hangs up on me after giving my serial number.

I know i'm not supposed to get support after end of warranty, but this is clearly something that would be won in court : an update shouldn't brick a device fresh out of warranty.

The lack of response from Microsoft is astounding.

Simon V.8266, I opened a case by email (out of warranty) and referenced this thread. They had me wipe my surface go and do a BMR and when that didn't work, i referenced this thread again and said, "it says the UEFI issue is non-recoverable" and they processed an out of warranty replacement.

that link (not related to this) has a Answer from a Microsoft Moderator with detailed instructions for Global support. Try filling out the form and let it create a case. I also choose Business instead of Home. The instruction says it works fine to do that.

Thanks CT! I just called the Technical Support and the gentleman who took my call asked some questions and said he will put in a request for free replacement (he's aware my device is no longer under warranty).

I am based in Singapore and the number i called is 8001013659. Spoke to the Support for about 20 minutes, and he asked for error msg (no bootable device), serial number, version number (firmwaree uefi) which are all available through the UEFI. Also asked when the error occurred.

Next steps, he says I'll receive an email for arranging Singpost (local courier) collection within the next 48-72 hours. After my current device is picked up, they will send a replacement set with a week or so. (sadly, they won't be recovering my lost data from the current device).
