Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Thank you MaSD#. Your post was extremely helpful.

I got my replacement earlier this week and I am setting it up now. Just installed all the updates and everything is working as expected.

To those who cannot get support, it is unfortunate but that is trade politics for you. You will be successful if you can get help from someone you know in one of the countries that Microsoft recognizes.

There is absolutely NO REASON that Microsoft can't provide a repair tool that back-revs to the previous uefi version so the thing will boot!! It CAN be done via usb boot device. That's how their tool development teams are able to test and validate new versions prior to public release! But why won't they share it? Because they care more about their proprietary tools being released into "the wild" then they do their customers.

Not all of us are willing to mail in our old systems. It's not that I don't have the skills to recover my data, it's that I don't want my data in YOUR HANDS! Would you mail a stranger your personal SSD/flash drive with all your personal data on it? Risk it getting "lost" in the mail? Formatting does nothing and BitLocker (if you even have it enabled) is easily subverted. Don't mail your personal devices! They are replacing the devices so you will stop complaining and go away quietly.

Come on people, demand they make it right and release a TOOL to reverse this nightmare that they created due to negligence. We should not be expected to accommodate THEM for THEIR mistake.
