This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Have you had any luck yet with MS? I have set up a campaign page so that we can try to bring pressure to bear on MS with a collective voice. Can you join and share with your 25 clients with the same problem? https://findothers.com/campaign/calling-on-microsoft-to-compensate-surface-go-owne
Hello GPFX STREAM,
Have you managed to get anything sorted out with your Surface Go? I have started a campaign to see if we can act collectively to bring pressure on MS about this problem with the 1.0.34 update. This is the page, if you want to join and share widely as there are likely hundreds of people affected https://findothers.com/campaign/calling-on-microsoft-to-compensate-surface-go-owne
After some 6 weeks and 4 separate attempts I am pleased to report that today I have been successful with MS Support. This was achieved through the Surface Go support chat service. They didn't even ask me for the photo of the UEFI screen. They acknowledged in black and white that the firmware update was their error and so they are replacing devices free of charge, outside of my warranty.
I feel sympathetic for anyone else that is still struggling so I will share what I can in case this will help you.
Firstly I made sure I was on the MS Surface Go support - you can check this by looking at the URL. This is the page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface-go scroll down the page and click on Contact Us. I put in my issue as "Surface Go bricked after 1.0.34 update". I also did something different this time to the other tickerts - I selected "Hardware issue" on the drop down rather than "Technical support".
As others have reported here, it does seem they a have process in place now:
The agent was very helpful, and apologetic and he said he had seen my previous unanswered emails and support tickets. So it seems that they either have finally got a solution is place and or they respond to you being persistent.
Here is the screenshot of the chat that I hope will help and encourage everyone else who is still trying to get a replacement.
Well done on the result ! I've now followed your guidance to reach Microsoft Support, and they have acknowledged the issue of the "no bootable disc". They have taken my contact details, address, email, phone, etc, and will send me further instruction via email. Although this issue should not have occured, and it has taken MS some time to acknowledge the issue is widespread, at least they are now responding positively. Anybody in a similar situation, simply follow the guidance supplied in the post above, and good luck with your claims.
UPDATE.....pre-paid ddress label now received from MS. Sending to them tomorrow. Will keep everyone up to date.
