Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

It's also possible to use AOMEI partition assistant. The free version is able to create a Windows to Go drive (just a couple of simple steps to follow). For non techies, it's probably a bit easier than Rufus. Now waiting for a new firmware to appear in Windows Update.

This worked! Called 1-800-Microsoft, Select 1, 2, then serial number, then 3.

This will get you to an agent.

This agent transferred me to the Surface team.

Surface team agent got the serial number and firmware version from me. Explained that although it was out of warranty, this is a known issue on their end and they will escalate it to their device replacement department. 72 hour turnaround time. He took down my shipping address to send the replacement to.

Fingers crossed. My daughter won't be happy that she lost everything stored on this device but hopefully it's a good lesson for her to back up her data in the future.

Same model, firmware, and problem here. Called Microsoft support but only offered paid replacement.

    Hi wasper,

You need to push them. Say that this is their fault and that there are many cases where they replace the device for free. Also you can ask to escalate the issue.

I was also offered a 250$ replacement first, but then they changed their mind. See what I wrote here: https://telegra.ph/Surface-Go-firmware-bug-bricks-the-device-06-24
