Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Good idea with Paul Thurrott didn’t think of that. I’ll try to talk to Scott Hanselman he might be able to give us a name or two to talk to.

Below is the email I sent to Mr. Thurrott.

Hello Mr. Thurrott Seems Microsoft has been pushing out a Windows firmware update for the Surface Go series of tablets. This firmware version 1.0.34.0 was released end of May 2022 and is causing many Surface Go 4G 64GB eMMC machines to no longer boot from the internal eMMC with a "No bootable device" error.According to this thread, Microsoft appears to know there is an issue but has done nothing to fix it aside from sending in your device for a replacement for $250.Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error - Microsoft CommunityA Reddit thread(9) URGENT NOTICE: Surface Go 1 UEFI firmware 1.0.34.0 update is bugged. My daughter brought me her Surface Go tonight after powering it on for the first time in few weeks and yep... No Bootable Device.

Worked fine last time she used it. Can't believe MS hasn't fixed this yet. They better get our devices working again or a class action lawsuit will be needed to get us all new devices.

    Im having the same issue.

Tried using a Windows to Go boot disk to boot an 1803 version of windows 10 and tried installing the Firmware version 1.0.19, but it doesnt overwrite the newer 1.0.34 version.

Microsoft please release an offline method of flashing the EUFI firmware, otherwise I'm sure a classaction law suit will follow.

I just posted an FYI over on Linus tech tips. Eventually, someone at Microsoft will do something, it is absolutely a screwup by whoever does their firmware.
