Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

If the above is the case, it looks like there could be a 0 missing off the firmware version that the affected versions have, although this could be the different platform.

    Your firmware on v1: 1.0.34.0

    On thé affected models: 1.0.34

Just to document here: our Surface Go (v1) is fortunately not affected, is only used when traveling and for that reason does not get all updates on the day of publishing. Installed is ESET Internet Security, Microsoft Office 365 and very few other apps.

    Update history:

    2022-06-05 Surface - Firmware - 11.8.90.3987

    2022-06-05 Surface - Firmware - 1.0.34.0

    2022-06-05 Intel - System - 2120.100.0.1085

    2022-03-18 Realtek - Net - 10.50.211.2022

    2022-01-19 Realtek - Net - 10.49.1102.2021

    2021-08-17 Surface - Firmware 1.0.32.0

I wish everybody affected the best of luck !!!

I think your only option is the ‘I have this issue too’ at the top of the page. It’s over 190 at the time of writing, so steadily increasing. I would guess as more people update and or fail to fix the issue on these tablets.

I have been having the same problem all week. It seems clear that only MS can fix this and it's not a hardware issue. What are the options to "upvote" this issue so it gets more attention?
