Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Thanks for this Oliver. In the firmware screen we are definitely getting it without the zero, although it may be a red herring.Image

My wife's (working) Surface Go has the exact same UEFI details (without the ".0" at the end) and hers is working.

My daughter's Surface Go is not. I have no clue what the difference between the two is!

My wife will be back home in a few days. I will then have a look in the UEFI BIOS of her Surface Go and report any difference here.

Everybody affected has my deepest compassion and I will try everything to help solve (or at least analyze) the problem.

I cannot and do not want to believe that a software update bricked so many of these fantastic devices !!! And it did, obviously.

Just to provide a proof (for the ones needing it one day, just in case...) 😉: I made a screenshot on my wife's Surface Go via TeamViewer this morning, and it definitely shows 1.0.34.0 (German Windows):
