This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Currently MS are refusing to accept it is a fault on the part of the software and are saying 'hardware error send in for repair'.
This thread is really gaining traction now with 243 at the time of writing. :-/
I am really astonished that they did not deactivate this auto-update after this mess!
Just switched on my SurfaceGo - have never had any issues with it. It went straight to installing updates, with a screen that was not the usual blue Windows update screeen, but a black screen with the windows icon and a progress bar. This concerned me straight away and then as soon as the update finished I just have a black screen with "No Bootable Device". Can't switch it off, or restart it or reboot.
Come on MS- you can't keep fobbing us all off and expect to buy a new machine. Mine too out of warranty, but it has very light use, I have no apps installed on it, just those it came with on purchase. Why would all of us experience exactly the same problem, immediately after an update?????
:-/ i thought it might be a false clue.
I did wonder whether having a USB drive plugged in after it was upgraded would have caused an issue, as mine is hooked up to a USB hub occasionally, but I can’t see how. Still no further update from MS.
From what I can tell the device is just ignoring the boot order in the firmware at the moment, and simply ignores the SSD.
Still, now over 200 on here which is possibly the trickle of people who don’t use it every day and are finding the upgrade has broken it.
