Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Hello people,
I would just like to add my voice to the thread, as I'm experiencing the same issue.
I haven't had my laptop open in a month or so, but I quite clearly remember putting it to update before last closing it. An earlier post mentioned getting a black screen with a progress bar instead of the usual blue one, and this was also the case for me.
I'm dependent on my laptop for my studies and the Office 365 Pack as well. It would sadden me, to have to say goodbye to Microsofts products in the future.
Please, if this indeed is an unjust design by Microsoft, if anyone there has a conscience and the power to change it, do so.
Just for documentation and comparison here: I made photos of each of the 6 UEFI pages of my wifes Surface Go gen. 1 (8 GB, 128 GB SSD), although this model is not affected. Nevertheless here is the PDF (for sure w/o S/N):

BTW: I saw the Battery Limit option and activated it now. I expect the behaviour is quite the same as e. g. with my Samsung A7 Lite LTE (which fits into my trousers' pocket just in case :-)) and limits the maximum SoC to e. g. 85 %.
Uh, no, just binged: Battery Limit setting (Surface) - Surface | Microsoft Docs
50 % is quite little so it is only useful if you nearly always and only use the device on your desk connected to external power.
Same exact same thing here. Tried everything, exact same problems when trying to use Recovery Image as others are having, infinite loop. Boggles my mind that this many Surfaces are Bricked. I really like Microsoft products but if they don't do anything, I doubt I will ever buy another Surface device again, which is a shame.
Personally, I think getting the word out is the way to go. Nobody likes negative press.
I agree. I'm documenting what happened here Surface Go firmware bug bricks the device – Telegraph
So far Microsoft support proposed to "recover this device" and it does not work.
I also created a discord server where we can discuss what we have tried and share our communication with Microsoft support, please join if you have the same issue. https://discord.gg/M9pHR29y
