This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Thanks to this community reporting the same issue I had during an update of my device during a business travel. Now, I will be using it for work and not able to use it.
No bootable device and unable to access important files I need.
Need assistance urgently in this regards!
I just got off chat with Microsoft and still like others have posted they said Microsoft is aware of the problem and they are working to resolve it but that's it. I don't know what to tell you if you need files off the device, sorry maybe someone else could be of more help

Hello
My Surface 1 was still on warranty so I have just got a replacement. The new one is in 1.0.34 as, so far, is working perfectly.
I hope MS deliver a solution for this issue.
Actually my warranty just expired three months ago. This is a HOT MESS, and of course Microsoft Surface support aren’t acknowledging this is a firmware issue on their end. Their recommendation is to buy a replacement for $249 or a brand new one just so it can break down in another 6 months…. It’s extortion! But thank you for the link. I will forward it to the Surface support people at Microsoft.
