Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Let's see what's on when getting back a device (my own or another?)

All the files are there, it's just the computer won't boot to windows. I was able to access the files using a decent size USB recovery drive and then using command prompt copy all important files onto the USB to move to another PC. I found directions via google on how to do this.

Fortunately I have my files backed up on the OneDrive. This isn’t my first rodeo with Surface. This is my 5th Surface device since 2017 that includes two replacements. And three brand new purchases. So I’m averaging a device/yr. I don’t know who to be more angry with Microsoft or myself for continuing with this madness…

Yea, it's a wild ride for sure.

Perhaps MS will reconsider adding a firmware flash loader to their UEFI menu like every other PC maker has. This simple option would make it fairly easy to fix this issue without sending the device out for service or replacement.

As for backups, always have a backup plan regardless of who makes your computer.
