Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Glad to hear you've got your new machine at last. I'm having difficulty - I've raised two separate support tickets, each time I've asked to escalate the issue, but am only offered a paid replacement. I have replied to the email that I get from them pointing to this forum and have sent a photo of my UEFI screen, but noone replies to me. Is there another way to follow up the ticket or do I have to follow up the ticket on the phone or chat? Getting very frustrated now, especially as it seems completely random who is getting replacement and those of us who aren't.

That is terrible! This is turning out to be a nightmare for a lot of people worldwide. There was a commenter in Ukraine who had no means of returning his device…Many people including myself that work abroad would have to incur the cost of shipping the item back to Microsoft outside of the US. The problem twofold, the 1. The firmware and 2. the widespread effects. Neither of which Microsoft is handling properly because they don’t want to admit liability. I smell a class action lawsuit…

    Hi all,

I have exactly the same issue, I contacted microsoft that is willing to change my tablet, but i would loose all my data on it...
Any idea how i could extract them ? If I do it in a private repair store (which would extract my hard drive i guess) , I won't be covered by microsoft waranty anymore (infraction of general terms and condition).
Am I doomed to loose them if I want to get back my surface go ? They are responsible of this bug, I should not pay for their errors ?
