This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

Hey, Baget.
How long did you wait. I think I am having the same issue.
Just follow the instructions. Now I just get a white windows logo, nothing else. It can't be the battery, can it. It should be running on power from power supply.
Maybe is this step that had cause my problem??
After you see the message "Please wait while we install a system update" on the screen, release the volume-down button. Leave your Surface on and don't touch it until after the process is complete.
I did see something below the white logo, so I let go of the button. Now, I just get the white logo!!!
Fxxk, this is just taking way too much time and money. Note to self, no more Microsoft. Bad for health, bad for health!!!
Hey, Microsoft. Do I need to turn off the power grid and then switch that back on again to make it work???????
Thanks
Thanks, Christoph_71.
Still have no fxxking idea why I have to pay money to fix some shxt that some fxxk head caused. Still think they should have send out at least a usb drive to me. So I don't have to spend extra fxxking money that I don't really have to fxxking fix the fxxking problem. Obviously, this fxxking company think their way is the best and every fxxking one is the fxxking same.
Thanks, again Christoph_71. Hopfully It do fxxking work for me. If it didn't, they would have a really good fxxking reason for not needing to do any fxxking thing. Because I am trying to fxxking fix the fxxking problem myself. They had fxxking suggest that they would fxxking send me a fxxking second hand shxt, and I refuse to accept their fxxking offer. They are so fxxking kind for sending out a fxxking second hand shxt to replace my fxxking old worthless surface with my worthless fxxking data in that piece of fxxking shxt.
This will fxxking continue while I am trying to fxxking fix this piece of fxxk.
Sorry for being fxxking pissed everyone. I am just so fxxking pissed. My time is just fxxking worthless. Microsoft's fxxking time is so much more important than their stupid fxxk head customers. They should have know ages ago when their fxxking windows update cost them countless hours of otherwise productive time, that this company care a great deal about their customers. It's us stupid fxxk head customer that didn't upgrade their otherwise fully functional computer every couple of fxxking years to catch up with their ever more resource demanding OS. We know we all do need those very important features that make our life so much easier. We don't have to know anything about ourselves any more, because they know you better than yourselves!!!
Still don't know why I have to get solid answers for problem that they had cause from other users like Christoph_71.
Cheer, Christoph_71. Thanks for helping out. Unlike that faceless, heartless corporate machine called MS.
Really thick :(
I am just wondering why people are happy with a refurbished unit. Are they just some MS employee posting trying to spin it a bit!!!! I mean when you use your device at all. You will definitely not want a just a refurbished second hand **** to replace a device that I had customize to the way I want it to perform. The only option that could actually make me feel a little **** about the situation is a new next generation device. So I am doing something new, instead of trying to fix someone else's problem that cause me a great deal of pain!!!!!
Someone should really start looking to file some sort of legal action, so that they cannot afford to make any more of this kind of mistake again. If they could still make them. Hint, maybe this is the sight of the beginning of the end of MS!!!
A really pissed customer.
this solved it, only thing that worked after recovery disk, re install, formatting etc didnt work https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-go-or-surface-go-2-turns-on-and-shows-no-bootable-device-5348cd7c-b417-4384-aad1-6d7db2642a9b
