This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.
I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.
Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so
Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?
I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.
I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback
Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.
Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

We have sold dozens of these devices to customers, and after an update, all of them no longer work.
Microsoft cannot be reached, no telephone number, no email, only an online solution that runs in a loop that you can do nothing with. This is really ridiculous that such a big company is choking its customers.
After 2 months still no solution and not even an answer!
"No bootable device" and my Surface is now bricked. What the hell!!!!! Same firmware people have here. Surface go 1, 4gb RAM and 64gb storage.
MS give us a solution!!!!!
Hello people,
I would just like to add my voice to the thread, as I'm experiencing the same issue.
I haven't had my laptop open in a month or so, but I quite clearly remember putting it to update before last closing it. An earlier post mentioned getting a black screen with a progress bar instead of the usual blue one, and this was also the case for me.
I'm dependent on my laptop for my studies and the Office 365 Pack as well. It would sadden me, to have to say goodbye to Microsofts products in the future.
Please, if this indeed is an unjust design by Microsoft, if anyone there has a conscience and the power to change it, do so.
Personally, I think getting the word out is the way to go. Nobody likes negative press.
I agree. I'm documenting what happened here Surface Go firmware bug bricks the device – Telegraph
So far Microsoft support proposed to "recover this device" and it does not work.
I also created a discord server where we can discuss what we have tried and share our communication with Microsoft support, please join if you have the same issue. https://discord.gg/M9pHR29y
