Surface Go uefi version is 1.0.34 and No Bootable Device error

Recently receiving "No Bootable Device" error on Surface go running UEFI 1.0.34.

I've tried all the recovery disk options without success.

Have also noticed a few reddit threads with similar issues with this version in the last week or so

Anyone else seen this and managed to recover their device?

I have lodged multiple support tickets, confirmed there is no way for a user to roll back this firmware update.

I have also lodged a complaint here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoftfeedback

Edit: 11/7 - After 5-6 weeks I've finally been able to send it back and it's been a fee-free replacement. It has been a lot of back and forth and mentioning this thread with so many other instances of it.

Still waiting for someone to lodge this as a firmware issue.....and remove that version of the firmware from Microsoft site.

I started with the support chat.

Tell them what your problem is, there are many with the same problem and send a link to this thread.

If they offer a replacement for money tell them you are not OK with this and ask to escalate the ticket. After this they sent me a shipping label and 5 days after I sent them my broken device I got the replacement. This also works if your device is out of warranty as mine was.

    Hi Christoph,

See above comments. If it's their first response you have a chance.

You have to push them. Say that this is their fault and that there are many cases where they replace the device for free. Also you can ask to escalate the issue.

I was also offered a 250$ replacement first, but then they changed their mind and offered a free replacement as "a courtesy exemption". See what I wrote here: https://telegra.ph/Surface-Go-firmware-bug-bricks-the-device-06-24

I just got the response to my case (# 1040778593) that my device is out of warranty and a replacement would cost 242,58€.

If there is no other solution offered by Microsoft for a problem they caused themselves I'm definitly not willing to buy another one from them. If you make a mistake you should stand to it and do everything to get it out of the world. Let paying others for your mistake is not the way to go.

Just contacted Microsoft with this problem, refering to this forum.

    Got this as answer:

"I understand. I'll raise this to our higher level of support and see if they can offer the same for your device. I will do my best"

They could not use the case nummer of Bronwen Zande because it had been done by telephone so refer to this forum.

Will get an answer i nthe next 24 to 72 h
