Surface Dock keeps waking up external monitor

I bought the dock in Europe from Expansys, which is a online store. There was no problem with the dock ever, except this monitor stand by thing. Since it's an online store, I can't visit them. Surely I could send back the dock, but it would take 2 weeks at least, and I use it for my work, so I have to be sure that this is a hardware problem and it will go away if they replace my piece.

I one more thing, to SandeepLiveCa and everyone else! If I connect a monitor with a miniDP-(HDMI or VGA or anything else) converter the monitor and the dock works fine. But since I use a 4K monitor and I need the 60Hz refresh rate, I must use the miniDP-DP cable since over HDMI I couldn't use the 60Hz refresh rate! So if I use a monitor with lower resolution, or 30Hz refresh rate is enough for you in 4K than the miniDP-HDMI cable is a good choice, it'll work fine!

Erwin! At Microsoft, did you ever tried to connect a Surface Pro 4 to the docking brick, connect the brick to a 4K (!) monitor with 60Hz refresh rate over a miniDP-DP cable and let the Surface down to sleep mode? It's a really easy experiment, I think you should try it!

• When and where did you purchase your Surface dock?
• Have you tried to visit the store where you purchase your Surface Dock so that the store staffs can check it?

Same problem here!

LG 27" 4K monitor plugged into the Srurface dock (the new one, the little brick) with a miniDP-DP cable. If there's no Surface connected to the dock, the monitor goes into standby fine. If I connect any Surface to the dock the monitor works fine. If the Surface goes into standby the monitor also turns off, but the dock wakes it up immediately. Then the monitor turns off again, and the dock wakes it up, and this cycle goes for ever!

It's definitely not a Surface or Windows problem, If I connect the miniDP-DP cable directly into the Surface and it goes into sleep, the monitor turn off just fine. It's not a monitor problem, the monitor works fine with other computers and docking stations.

It's definitely a docking problem. I updated the firmware with the Surface Pro Dock Updater to the latest version, and every Windows updates are installed.

I've nailed down the problem to dock or sp4 not supporting more than 4k@60. It worked well with single 4k or dual 1080p. Adding a 1080p to 4k makes booting up the monitors unstable, but usable once boot up.

Let's get this resolved by checking and installing all the updates available for your device. Make sure that your dock is connected to your Surface device while checking for updates. Also, download the Surface Dock Updated from this link. Once you click Download, check the box for SurfaceDockUpdaterSetup.msi.

If this doesn't help resolve your issue, we suggest that you visit the nearest Microsoft retail store or contact our Answer Desk.

Followed all the steps above (the SurfaceDockUpdaterSetup updated the firmware of the Dock which took 15 minutes) and I re-checked for Updates. All looked good.

But unfortunately the problem still exists. Setting display to PC screen only doesn't stay. The external monitor wakes up again immediately after going to sleep.

Going to try Answer Desk before I bring this thing in.
