Iexperienced this problem this morning on my Surface Pro 2.  After being connected at a coffee shop, shutting down and rebooting at work I tried to connect to the wireless connection at work and am also getting the "no connection available".  I get the same network icon and red X.

When I troubleshoot I get "The Marvell AVASTAR Wireless Composite Device adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problems"

Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thank you Mar T

I have tried most of the suggestions already including manually reinstalling the network controller.

I did a restore to 1st August and I now have connection to the wifi router although I got an error message saying that the restore did not complete successfully and system files and settings were not changed.

I will see how things go now.
