Iexperienced this problem this morning on my Surface Pro 2.  After being connected at a coffee shop, shutting down and rebooting at work I tried to connect to the wireless connection at work and am also getting the "no connection available".  I get the same network icon and red X.

When I troubleshoot I get "The Marvell AVASTAR Wireless Composite Device adapter is experiencing driver- or hardware-related problems"

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Steven - thanks for posting this - it worked last week and again today.  Is there a permanent fix?

Regretfully I concur with Jeff. I was using my Surface Pro 2 for work. I decided to repurpose it as a home machine and performed a system restore. It is now working fine.

I do believe that there is a driver issue here, but I have not been able to resolve it. I was also having problems with the Surface Docking Station. When I was connected to it and booted up thee keyboard would not work. I found that I could remove the deivce from the dock, type, and then put it back and the keyboard would operate normally.

This issue has also been resolved with the restore. I have applied all updates that I have received via Microsoft Update, so I can't point to an update as the culprit. My only guess is that somehow the Marvell driver was damaged or corrupted during one of the update.

    Good luck.
