I had tried that Warzone 2100 game again (you can manually set the screen resolution on it) and when I tried to set it for the 2160 x 1440 setting, that is when my fan kicked in 'big time' and started heating up real fast. I deleted the game - I don't really
play it anymore.
It is not definite but I am thinking that the video standard on these tablets are tasking the graphics/CPU to the limit. At least, with older software. That is an old game. The Metro UI games run perfect in this resolution.
That Xara program I have works perfect. When using it, the CPU barely gets warm and you cannot hear the fan.
Beyond that, this Surface Pro 3 (i3 model) is working perfect. I am doing a battery test run on it now to see how long it lasts on a charge and so far, at the rate of depletion, the i3 will last about 6.5 hours. That would be web browsing, emails, getting
on the forum and typing this reply, and watched a TV show episode of Falling Skies. This machine is also, not slow at all. Not an i5 or i7 but good enough for just about anything.
Right now, I am setting it up to be used as my primary computer. I have already parked my desktop.
