Surface Pro 7 and Slim Pen Stop working

Same for me, got the Surface 7 Pro and slim pen together. The longest i've had is a run of eight days...then it crashed again. It seems to be on wakeup (for me). I've returned the surface and replaced it with a 7+ and it still happened. I've removed the slim pen and its been good so far (1 day 15hrs so far..)

I used the pen the other day without pairing (just using the tip on the screen) and within minutes it had frozen again. A restart fixes it , as does uninstalling the Intel driver, but the point is, I shouldn't have to do this at all. 

I'd previously reinstalled windows, updated the driver package etc. Surely there must be a log of the freeze somewhere to nail this issue?!

I'll get a cheap older surface pen and see if it freezes again.

Omg. I spent MONTHS troubleshooting this to finally find out it was the Slim Pen. I am unlucky in that I'm outside of warranty and stuck with a pen that doesn't actually work with my device - while Microsoft continues to insist it does. I've had the same issue with TWO different Surface Pro 7s and TWO different Slim Pens. Makes my work impossible. I'm since reverted to an older style pen, but I've literally sunk $500 bucks into accessories for a device to find out an over-priced accessory was the problem. Seriously, Microsoft needs to recognize this is actually an issue and make amends. I can't see myself purchasing anything else from Microsoft after this despite using Surface devices and accessories for years.

I completely agree with the poster as I also contacted Microsoft and their technicians insist that the pen is compatible. It is not. I have returned the slim pen as gratefully I was in the 14 day return window and bought an old surface pen which works great.

I just recently purchased the Surface Pro 7 and Slim pen. I am on the third one as I have returned them and gotten a new one due to the touch screen not working. It works fine for a little while then in the middle of editing pictures or using the slim pen the touch screen and pen both stop working. I have done all of the suggested tips (Uninstalling drivers, reinstalling them, etc) and after restarting the Surface Pro 7 they work for awhile and then I'm back to having to restart to get them to work again. I am assuming now it is something with the surface slim pen interfering with the touch screen since I have been through three Pro 7s and not all of them can be messed up. Is there a way to fix this permanently without having to constantly restart my device?

I am a professional photographer and this is seriously messing with my work flow. I can not keep restarting my device every 15 to 30 minutes to get the screen and pen working again. My next step is to return both items and switch completely away from the Surfaces. I don't want to as I have had my Surface Pro 3 for years and love it but it crashed and I had to upgrade. Can anyone tell me what to try to get this issue corrected?

II have the same surface pro 7 and slim pen. this issue is happening to me to. I am really upset that theses expensive products are not working right

I was able to return slim pen as its only been a few days and now have the original surface pen.

So far i have used the original surface pen for 2.5 hours now and it is still working which is already better than the slim crashing it every 10 minutes or intially an hour

crossing fingers that the original surface pen continues to work.
