Thanks for letting me know. I am making a trip to best buy where I bought mine today and exchanging it.
Surface Pro 7 and Slim Pen Stop working
I just recently purchased the Surface Pro 7 and Slim pen. I am on the third one as I have returned them and gotten a new one due to the touch screen not working. It works fine for a little while then in the middle of editing pictures or using the slim pen the touch screen and pen both stop working. I have done all of the suggested tips (Uninstalling drivers, reinstalling them, etc) and after restarting the Surface Pro 7 they work for awhile and then I'm back to having to restart to get them to work again. I am assuming now it is something with the surface slim pen interfering with the touch screen since I have been through three Pro 7s and not all of them can be messed up. Is there a way to fix this permanently without having to constantly restart my device?
I am a professional photographer and this is seriously messing with my work flow. I can not keep restarting my device every 15 to 30 minutes to get the screen and pen working again. My next step is to return both items and switch completely away from the Surfaces. I don't want to as I have had my Surface Pro 3 for years and love it but it crashed and I had to upgrade. Can anyone tell me what to try to get this issue corrected?

2021-01-09T19:12:39+00:00 Bad news - My new Slim Pen managed to kill the touch function after one hour and second time after 10min. I have now asked the supplier to replace it with a regular pen. This is the last chance I give to the SP7.

2021-01-09T08:43:48+00:00 New slim pen arrived today. We‘ll see very soon if this problem is fixed. Reading other posters, it does not feel optimistic as all write that the issue gone away using the regular pen. This would be really frustrating.

2021-01-08T04:28:33+00:00 Steven,
You are welcome. Once I get a replacement and see how that goes I will post an update.
As for my pen and the warranty I figured I would take it straight back to Best Buy as it is not even a month old.
Thank you for your attempt to help resolve this matter!
