Mouse freeze on surface book 2 after the most recent firmware UEFI version 389.2268.769.0 update!!! especially when power adapter plugged in

There is a big issue in the recent firmware/driver update pushed to the surface book 2. The usb mouse became not really usable. There is a frequent lag/freeze happened to the mouse. Such issue was not there before the firmware update.

The mouse I tried including Logitech G703, G402, microsoft wireless mouse, etc.

Many people have discussed this now but not solution is provided and the problem cannot be solved now:

A further test can now confirm that the issue is either in the UEFI version 389.2268.769.0 or the system aggregator version 728.128.137.0.

After updated these two modules to those versions, the issue start to appear. This has been confirmed on more than one surface book 2 devices.

The previous version of the UEFI starting from 388 and aggregator version 728.77.137.0 do not have such issue. I can see at the moment, the 389 version of UEFI is not pushed anymore and the firmware/driver pack downloaded from Microsoft has the 388 version now.

But for those surface book 2 which has already got the 389 version pushed cannot revert back to the 388 version. Please fix this asap.

No, the issue is definitely no as visible on their community site as it is here.  I'll search again on their site, if I don't find much, I'll start one.

    Hello Joseph,

Just received my 15in SB2 a few days ago and used it for two days with no issues before finally having the time to install a G502 gaming mouse.  I immediately started having the problems described here in these posts.

There have been no changes to my system except for whatever updates were installed when I first connected to the internet by windows update.

I am using a Logitech G502 gaming mouse with its own installed software that is currently up to date.

The issue happens, typically after 15-20 minutes of use doing business related tasks such as excel, RDP, and web browsing.  This issue has not happened while a game application was running.

Whats the plan?  I love my SB2 so far, but I need my mouse!

    Thank You

Would be interested to see what Logitech has to say on this... have you contacted them?

    Hello,

This has nothing to do with the mice.

I have the same issue :

    • SB2 15", latest firmware
    • Windows 10, latest version
    • Surface Dock, latest firmware

As soon as I plug my SB2 to the dock and I start having issues with my USB mouse (a simple logitech mouse), issues I did not have before.

If I use the best power mode, the issue is really unbearable. I have to decrease the power mode to make it more rare.

I'm using neither Chrome nor Symantec Endpoint protection, and I have this issue occurring too.

The funniest thing is that my Logitech MX Master in Bluetooth Mode does not show these problems at all!

Methinks this has to be a power distribution issue, because I also get this when the CPU is under higher load. I just now had the pleasure of a stuttering Steelseries Sensei Mouse while I was trying to open an Ebook.

Please Microsoft, at least acknowledge that this is an issue.

Thanks for the feedback that you don't have Chrome nor Symantec.

Have you filed a report via MS' feedback hub or up-voted an existing report?

I'll gladly do so if you point me in the right direction. This is the first thing my Google search turned up with

Its the Feedback Hub app in Windows 10.

I've made my own post in the Feedback hub now, referring to this here thread. Thanks for letting me know.
