Surface Book 2 battery drain whilst off

I have had a Surface Book 2 for 9 months now. It drains 5-10% battery whilst switched off every day. I know this is a common complaint, yet why is it an issue on a $4000AUD laptop?

Can I return it for a refund as it does not meet my needs?

There needs to be a class action lawsuit that results in Microsoft having to disclose the battery drain issue to all customers prior to the purchase of any Surface. We all need to boycott Microsoft until they are willing to refund every single Surface owner that have this issue and find it unacceptable. If Apple would only use that battery drain issue their ads. From this point on I will only buy Apple products and officially I am boycotting Microsoft.

I have a surface tablet as well and I use it once a week or so. Every time I use it, the battery is flat and I will charge it full then perform a proper shutdown after using it.

Some component is still draining power when the device is off.

Has anyone done any tests to see if disabling Fast Startup has an effect on this problem?

I have just turned on my Surface Book, after it had been off (and I mean completely shut off) for roughly 2 weeks:

I hope I have answered your question.

Thanks for the fast reply. My Surface Book hasn't been off for more than a couple hours at a time so I haven't seen the problem.

It shouldn't be very hard for Microsoft to see which circuits are powered in the off state. One has to assume they don't want to talk about it.
