I have had a Surface Book 2 for 9 months now. It drains 5-10% battery whilst switched off every day. I know this is a common complaint, yet why is it an issue on a $4000AUD laptop?
Can I return it for a refund as it does not meet my needs?

It appears you have spoken with Surface techs or customer support to some extent. Upon reading your post, I assume they couldn't tell you (or didn't) that this is just the way the machine is and will always be. What is the best way, or rather, how did you, contact tech support/service? I want to make a call and would like to know the most direct route to a technician.

I will not matter. I would not purchase another Surface, there is no fix your just out of the money you paid if out of warrantee. They are all defective and Microsoft does not care.

I have the same problem with my device. I only just noticed it recently as I normally power my device off am typically studying. Now, I've noticed that in sleep mode the battery drains overnight. Microsoft, this is one of your most expensive laptops, it's unbecoming of you to remain silent amidst 67 complaints!

PLEASE ADVISE!
In Sleep Mode the PC is still on so it will use power at a slightly reduced level. Sleep Mode is intended for short term use such as taking a lunch break. For a longer period or overnight use Hibernate or shut down the PC.
The problem with the Surface Book using power while completely shut down is another issue.
I went through two replacements. Microsoft even sent me a brand new replacement SB2 and the issue persisted. So frustrated that no one will even respond from Microsoft. I hope one of you is able to get through to them soon. Maybe try calling their support and opening an official ticket with engineering.
