Surface Book 2 battery drain whilst off

I have had a Surface Book 2 for 9 months now. It drains 5-10% battery whilst switched off every day. I know this is a common complaint, yet why is it an issue on a $4000AUD laptop?

Can I return it for a refund as it does not meet my needs?

    Read the thread first then ask me about "trial and error" because 20 people already suggested what this guy suggested, it's very annoying to have people post already suggested solutions without even reading the thread to see if the solution was already suggested. It's very obvious. I won't write anything additional regarding this matter.

    Agreed. One would think that just reading the thread's title would be enough to understand that this issue is tied to the machine being off and not on standby, but even reading a title seems to be too bothersome to somebody.

    If it doesn't try connecting to tablet.

    If light on charging cable is not lit up after connecting, probably you charger is the problem while sb2 battery is completely drained.

    yes. the light on the charger is on and bright... I don't think there is a problem with the block. I can't connect to the tablet because it doesn't detach now since it's literally dead... If battery is completely drained, is there a way to jumpstart it?
