How to press the <Insert> key when it's not there?

Given that there is no <Insert> key on the Surface/Type keyboard, what key combination will generate the <Insert> key scan code?

While a bit of a kludge, leave your window active, click the window key to the 'Start' panel.  Drag top or bottom to expose All Apps and open it.  Drag all the way right to the ease of use section and it's On-Screen Keyboard.  Open it.  Drag from the left edge to expose your app.   Insert is middle of the right side of the kb.  Pause is there too (window +Pause is one of my favs... with no pause key on other easily access kbs on the Surface)

    Can you also program INS code in stead of only characters there? In the instructions I only see characters...

    About choosing another bluetooth keyboard: with the surface pro you miss the point there, this is about the click-on cover that gives you the advantage of a thin tablet, otherwise you would have two devices again, including the hassle of charging it seperately, storing it, bluetooth connection not available any more for other devices etc. ...

    thank you for the link, it works now.  

    However, in this link I do not find an answer to the original question. 

    Do you have an answer on behalf of Microsoft?

    "No we are sorry but there is no way to simulate the INSERT keystroke using the keyboard" is also an acceptable answer, as it will te clarity we miss now.

    Same here, I use mindmaps every day (mindjet mindmanager), now it is not possible any more to insert new subtopics without hassle with the touchpad.

    Come on Microsoft, think from the user perspective when developing your solutions. For once. Please.
