Hi,
my Surface Pro 1 does connect well with my Samsung Smart TV series 7. However, my new Samsung Pro 3 wont connect. It finds the TV and then tries to establish connection and asks to wait - maybe the TV should not popup a PIN code - but that never happens and the connection times out. Interestingly the Surface Pro 3 gets listed in the Samsung network device settings and is set to "allowed" for connection but the Surface Pro 3 still wont connect. Note i have deployed all latest updates on Samsung TV as well as Surface Pro 3.
I would appreciate to get this working again.

I don't know about the rest of you, but for me, the adapter is no solution at all. The main reason I want to connect wirelessly is so that I don't have to switch inputs.
I agree, I would love this feature as well, but having to switch source/input is not a deal breaker for me. Having said that, I would much prefer not having to do it, and being able to use the build in feature, like I can with my phone.
Does the adapter work as expected - flawless and without issues?
I will let you know once I received and connected it. But I assume it won't be able to "steal" the source/input from whatever you are watching, like the build in feature can. So you will probably at the very least, have to switch input on the TV manually.
Anyway, I will let you know once I tested it. (should arrive in the mail tomorrow, and I will test it tomorrow night)
It is obvious that the Surface Pro DOES NOT NEED AN ADAPTER to Miracast.
My Surface Pro I puts the start screen on the TV for a second or two and then SOMETHING cuts it off.
The TV is still in mirror mode and waiting for a signal.
It appears the Surface tablet realizes it is Miracasting and changes the Miracast frequency or some characteristic so that it only works if you have a Miracast adapter to change the signal back so the TV recognizes it.
Since my Start Screen DOES appear on the TV when I start Mirror mode on the Sony UHD TV for a second or two it PROVES ( at least to me ) that no adapter is actually needed or the Start Screen would not be able to show up on the TV at all without the adapter, but it does.
I believe they are stopping it on purpose to force people to buy adapters.
I'm sorry, I have to disagree with this.
Since a Firmware update from Microsoft, my SP3 works on my Samsung 6400H.
Sometimes it won't- restarting the TV makes it come good.
The SP3 is capable of outputting Miracast to a TV. It seems that there is some question as to WHICH TV's. Perhaps because of Microsoft, but also perhaps because of other manufacturers.

Ok, so I got the adapter from Microsoft listed above, and no it does not work flawlessly. However it does work.
The two problems I have, which are pretty much universal are.

Ps. The pen still works without Bluetooth enabled, just the button at the end to open one note, does not. And I have still not found the keyboard shortcut to toggle Bluetooth on and off.
