Hi,
my Surface Pro 1 does connect well with my Samsung Smart TV series 7. However, my new Samsung Pro 3 wont connect. It finds the TV and then tries to establish connection and asks to wait - maybe the TV should not popup a PIN code - but that never happens and the connection times out. Interestingly the Surface Pro 3 gets listed in the Samsung network device settings and is set to "allowed" for connection but the Surface Pro 3 still wont connect. Note i have deployed all latest updates on Samsung TV as well as Surface Pro 3.
I would appreciate to get this working again.

People with new Sony UHD TV's have the same problem.
Can't mirror to them with my Surface Pro ( original version ).
Since this problem isn't limited to Sony I believe it is Microsoft's fault.
None of the " suggestions " from Barb and other folks have helped.
And I refuse to buy another gadget to make something work that should work out of the box.
Facing the same issue in my Samsung TV (bought recently) with my Surface Pro 3. I have last update Firmware 2130 but not working.
I have the hope that if it was working with previous Samsung updates, Samsung will release a new update soon and we can all connect and live happily ever after! :DDD
Please let me know if you get the latest update working for it!

It's not the missing Miracast certification since it works fine on my Surface Pro 2 which also uses Miracast for Mirroring.

Without Miracast certification there is no "guarantee" of compatibility. That means it MAY work with some devices but not others. If you have a Miracast Certified device and are running a version of the device firmware certified by the wifi alliance, as opposed to a newer/older uncertified firmware version, I can possibly send in that information to some folks at Microsoft.
Bottom line is that without certification, connectivity results may vary.
What brand / model of UHD tv are you mirroring to?
This is encouraging that SOME Surface tablets < are > working.
It has been suggested that I might need to upgdate a driver for the Surface video card --- but if that was the case ... how can it put the Start screen on the tv for even one second?
That's the puzzling part in some ways.
IT DOES WORK FOR ONE SECOND and then stops.
If it absolutely HAD to have an adapter to make it work --- the Start screen would NEVER appear on the tv at all.
This morning I took a brief video and a still shot showing the Start Screen on the TV and will try to get them posted to Photobucket so I can link to them here. Don't think we can directly embed / link videos here.
Oops I'm wrong ... here is the still shot. You can see the Sony says it is mirroring the Surface and lower down on the left it says Scene select: General === that comes from the Sony and the start screen is very clear and sharp. I forgot to focus the camera but it worked well enough I think.
Looks like I can only embed a still shot will have to make a link to the video ...
