Surface Pro 3 does not connect to recent Samsung Series 7 TV

Hi,

my Surface Pro 1 does connect well with my Samsung Smart TV series 7. However, my new Samsung Pro 3 wont connect. It finds the TV and then tries to establish connection and asks to wait - maybe the TV should not popup a PIN code - but that never happens and the connection times out. Interestingly the Surface Pro 3 gets listed in the Samsung network device settings and is set to "allowed" for connection but the Surface Pro 3 still wont connect. Note i have deployed all latest updates on Samsung TV as well as Surface Pro 3.

I would appreciate to get this working again.

Thx,

Bernd

I can't even get my SP3 to mirror via HDMI to my Samsung series 7 UHD. My Mac mirrors using the same cable and input, my SP3 mirrors fine to other displays, but my two newest devices hate each other.

Between the mirroring issues and the fact that some of my go-to programs don't support hi-dpi, my SP3 is just a very expensive paper weight.

By by the time these issues are addressed, it's going to be outdated.

    Do you use 1920*1080?

    or  2160 x 1440?

Miracast SHOULD negotiate the video and change the SP3 resolution to 1920.1080 during the session negotiation handshake.

Please check and see if the TV is Miracast certified. Samsung does not seem to certify their TV's. Many of them seem to work with some devices but not with everything. I've seen issues with Samsung BD players, which ARE certified, failing to connect in the same way.

I've passed along reports, but knowing whether your TV is certified for Miracast is important. I could not find a user guide for this TV, you may need to contact Samsung support. Ask them if this TV is Miracast certified. Don't let them start talking about All Share Cast or screen sharing/mirroring. Tell them the WiFi Alliance certified devices and you want to know if the TV is officially certified.
