Surface Pro 3 does not connect to recent Samsung Series 7 TV

Hi,

my Surface Pro 1 does connect well with my Samsung Smart TV series 7. However, my new Samsung Pro 3 wont connect. It finds the TV and then tries to establish connection and asks to wait - maybe the TV should not popup a PIN code - but that never happens and the connection times out. Interestingly the Surface Pro 3 gets listed in the Samsung network device settings and is set to "allowed" for connection but the Surface Pro 3 still wont connect. Note i have deployed all latest updates on Samsung TV as well as Surface Pro 3.

I would appreciate to get this working again.

    A lot of miracast devices have trouble with the sp3. I have a western digital Live TV plus and some times it works and sometimes it wont work. If it works it only last for a few minutes and it disconnects once it does that i have to restart the surface because the WiFi also stops working for some reason. I gave up on miracast.

    I'm in the same boat. SP3 won't connect to Samsung series 7 UHD TV as a wireless display. Times out even though both devices indicate that they can detect each other. I have managed to add the TV as a "Play Device" which let me stream a video, but cannot mirror the screen no matter what I try.

    Yep. I have a Samsung BD player that supports Miracast. SP original, Surface 2, and Lumia 2520 Tablet all connect no problem. Only the SP3 can't connect. Everything connects to my Netgear PTV3000.

    Correct, it never worked on my SP3. No matter what i do, and how often i reset TV and SP3.

    • when i add projecting devices on the SP3, it lists the Samsung TV; i select that
    • once the SP3 connects, the TV writes "connecting <sp3>", and the SP3 displays "connecting, please follow any instructions of your entertainment device"
    • I select "allow" access for <sp3> on the Samsung TV and it tries connecting
    • Both devices time out, the Samsung TV first, then later the SP3.

    p.s. i just tried a bestbeans miracast adapter for test purposes and with this the SP3 connects immediately. So its the combo of Samsung TV UE55HU7580 and the Surface Pro 3.

    And as the Samsung TV works fine with Surface Pro 1, both devices have some sort of incompatibility
