Surface Pro 3 does not connect to recent Samsung Series 7 TV

Hi,

my Surface Pro 1 does connect well with my Samsung Smart TV series 7. However, my new Samsung Pro 3 wont connect. It finds the TV and then tries to establish connection and asks to wait - maybe the TV should not popup a PIN code - but that never happens and the connection times out. Interestingly the Surface Pro 3 gets listed in the Samsung network device settings and is set to "allowed" for connection but the Surface Pro 3 still wont connect. Note i have deployed all latest updates on Samsung TV as well as Surface Pro 3.

I would appreciate to get this working again.

Thx,

Bernd

Great news everyone...I'm able to connect!

Every time Samsung releases a TV update I always go back to see if my SP3 is able to connect. Up until now, I was always confronted with the same disappointment resulting from the the TV timing out.

Current Software version is 2125 which was released a day or so ago. Not sure if it was the TV update that corrected the issue, or if a fix was included in a recent Microsoft update. Regardless, it's working and I'm an even happier SP3 owner :). What a way to start the new year!

    Blessings.

Im having the same issue with my brand new Microsoft Surface PRO 3. It will not connect to my Samsung Smart LED 6300 series TV no matter what I do,. Whats the point of this option if it doesn't work.

I had to buy a screanbeam pro in order to get it to work,. I shouldn't have to buy more things when its already installed. Get it together microsoft.

I too have not been able to mirror to a Panasonic TC-65AX800U using Miracast with my SP3. I can, however, mirror to this TV using my Surface 2 and an Asus Laptop each running Win 8.1.

I have reset my SP3 to out of box condition and tried to mirror before applying any updates. No dice. I fully updated and still no dice. Clearly the Panasonic supports Miracast as evidenced by two of my three devices connecting.

MS, please acknowledge that this is a known issue the SP3 or I am going to return it.

I can't find any reference in the user guide http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/TC-65AX800U?t=manuals&support#tabs or on the web site tat this TV is Miracast certified. Do you have a link? There's no guarantee that any device will work with a non certified device.

    How is this constructive?!

The user clearly stated that the mirroring function works on SP2, so obviously the problem lies with SP3 which btw was marketed as a product which was able to use screen mirroring with smart tv:s.

This "blame game" between manufactures is best kept on a B2B level.  As a consumer I do not care about which company failed to e.g. implement proper miracast protocols. Just get it done MS or I'll too will return this otherwise fine product.

    Axel,

I'm sure Microsoft would investigate if the TV was certified for Miracast.  Asking a company to ignore a standard and 'just make it work' isn't something you should expect to happen. I do understand the frustration.
