Surface Go - Zoom Meetings

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Surface Go for work purposes. 

I am wanting to use Zoom Meetings however when I try start/ join a meeting the computer wants me to run it through an application. When I search for an application, nothing comes up.

I have tried downloading "Teams" to then link with my Zoom account, and run Zoom through this application.

I have managed to link the account, however when I try start/ join a meeting, the same request comes up, asking me to run Zoom through another application.

Does anyone have any experience with using Zoom on a Surface Go at all? Is it doable?

Thank you for your response.

It seems that there is no Zoom app available in the Microsoft Store app and I don't think you can use Microsoft Teams as the app to run for Zoom meetings. You may consider using the Zoom web client which works with the new Microsoft Edge and doesn't require switching out of S mode or if you need more advanced features you may need to switch out of S mode for you to install and run the Zoom app on your Surface Go if necessary.

Microsoft - how quickly can you arrange for the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app to be available from the Microsoft Store. Zoom is essential, but I also do not want to leave S Mode. 

This is up to the app developer (Zoom), not Microsoft. Zoom has to create a
compatible app and get it certified by the Store.

    May I ask where did you download the Zoom from? Was it from the Microsoft Store app?

    Is your Surface Go still in Windows 10 S mode or you switched it out already?

    If you downloaded the Zoom app from the Microsoft Store app and your Surface is still in S mode, please run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit on the device and try to Update apps and games in the Microsoft Store app.

    If the device is still in S mode and when you were prompted to run Zoom through an app (Zoom app download), you might need to switch out of S mode in order for you to run this application if this application is not coming from the Microsoft Store. You may check this page for more information in Windows 10 S mode.

    Hi Marrion,

    Thank you for answering my question.

    My Surface Go is still in S mode, and Zoom is not downloaded via Microsoft Store as I do not believe there is an app for it (only on Apple store).

    Is there an app for Zoom Meetings on Microsoft? If so, I have not been able to find it.

    At the moment I can sign into my Zoom account online, and then it requires the app to open the meeting/ audio/ video call. Without the app I cannot do this. This is why I tried to utilise "Teams" as the app to use Zoom meetings through. Is that an option if there is no app for Zoom on Microsoft?

    In light of the coronavirus pandemic many offices, businesses, and faith-based organizations are using Zoom as a means to practice social distancing  and conduct business.  I do not want to compromise the safety feature found in S-Mode, which is why I have not switched.  Is there away that we can get the Zoom applet or one that will allow the benefit of using the Surface screen and camera to teleconference with office mates?
