Surface Studio - wifi and bluetooth lag and interference

I have been using my Surface Studio, and have found that whilst writing documents, there appears to be a regular (perhaps every hour or so) lag and interference, where the mouse pointer pauses on screen and catches up by jumping across the screen every 5 seconds but this goes on for a full minute. The same thing happens with the keyboard strokes. I can be typing and suddenly the same letter i had types repeats itself across the document (as if the key had been stuck down) until I press escape or delete. If your unlucky when you press delete the delete command carries on endlessly, as if it is stuck down as well, until the whole document has been deleted. This issue tends to be associated with a researching for a WIFI signal pr something like that.

Has anyone else experienced this and have you found a solution? I contacted Microsoft Support and was told that this is a known issue and will be resolved in a future update, but this was now 3 months ago and several updates since. Since no solution.

I have seen similar issue with my last Studio and posted the problem in this thread.

My current Studio has not exhibited this problem so far (w/ Fall Creators Update), but it has other problems (extreme slow HDD, 5-10min boot time, even after three factory reset).

My experience on this (after getting my fifth Studio and fourth replacement) is that this device is very unreliable, often exhibiting different kind of issues from unit to unit. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Bluetooth impacted Studio is a lemon (as was my previous one).

My hope on Microsoft to resolve any problem is very low. This forum is unhelpful in general, and they generally don't get back at me even if they do respond.

    Hi,

We are currently investigating this issue. In the meantime, we recommend that you visit Windows Update, install any updates and then restart (not shut down) Surface Studio to resolve some issues. Please check for updates often for any future updates that may help with this issue.

We appreciate your patience on this matter.

    Regards.

Mark, I have followed your instructions and the problem has not been resolved. in fact it has prompted another problem to appear, where the Camera will not turn on for Windows Hello face recognition, and I now have to input my PIN every time I return to the PC. I have looked for resolution to this issue also, and those listed don't work to resolve this issue either, are pointless and a waste of time. Why is it that such issues cannot just be sorted out once and for all with an update? Its almost like a conspiracy to keep IT personnel fully employed by writing prolems into the software so that they are employed again to resolve it and create another issue.

My Studio has severe bluetooth lag in the mouse. I believe it's caused by newer Windows updates as I don't think I notice it when I get the machine.

The mouse basically will work well for some time, then becomes super laggy for a couple seconds before returning to normal again. This happens frequently every day. It almost feel like the mouse will start to lag when the system is working hard (although I don't have CPU usage to back that hypothesis up).

For now, I have to plug in a wired USB mouse and retire the Surface Mouse.

Hi. The trouble with my particular circumstances is that I am using a Surface Studio with bluetooth keyboard and mouse. So each time the system goes into the laggy-phase, which happens regularly, the keyboard and mouse seem to have a mind of their own for around 30 seconds or longer, many times a day. If you hit a key on the keyboard during this stage, the keystroke repeats for the entire 30 seconds and there is nothing you can do except hope that your document is not going to be ruined, particularly if your last keystroke was a backspace or delete.

This problem has been prevalent since the very beginning of my using the Studio, and have had many promises from Microsoft that it is being fixed, but it is now a year, and nothing has improved.

I fail to understand why such a glitch can go ignored by Microsoft for so long.
