Surface Pro 7 Overheating when charging

So I've purchased and exchanged 3 brand new surface pro 7s in the last 20 days from best buy because of this issue. Everytime I plugged in the charger, within 5 mins, the backside of the Surface pro 7 starts overheating to an uncomfortable temperature. This was the case for the last 2 Surface Pro 7s as well. Their respective lot number was 1945 and 1943. I'm beginning to wonder if this is an issue with this particular batch ... Is there any answers for this?

Experiencing the same thing.  Overheating and using battery saver mode.  And updates are installed.

This is definitely going to be my only Microsoft laptop. Can’t even use Corel painter without the battery feeling like it’s going to make my computer overheat and cause a fire.

Microsoft needs to loom into not only battery replacements but compensation for users who will have to get these batteries replaced due to needing laptops for work and school.

    Seriously disappointing

I purchased Microsoft Surface Pro 7 almost 5-6 months ago. Since last couple of weeks, I am experiencing the exact same issue as explained here. Getting super hot when it's in charging and as soon as charge plug off, it starts cooling down. While using during charging, many applications to be precise, Microsoft OneNotes crashed and I have to restart the device. This is very much annoying as many times it doesn't save the file I am working on.

Microsoft is very well known and one of the trustworthy brand in the market. But this issue makes me re-think on it.

Did anyone find the solutions or replacement? Any Recall by company?

I have a surface pro I’ve had for about a year and I went to use it today. I took it off the charger and it will not turn on or even try to turn on. The device is extremely hot. I’ve had it off the charger for almost an hour and it’s still extremely hot. This is my second surface pro 7 as my first one kept getting the blue screen of death.

    Hi,

I’m also having an issue with overheating with the 7. The surface won’t start up immediately after charge until it cools down, and then the battery doesn’t maintain its charge. I have followed all troubleshooting advice to no avail...
