Surface Pro 7 Overheating when charging

So I've purchased and exchanged 3 brand new surface pro 7s in the last 20 days from best buy because of this issue. Everytime I plugged in the charger, within 5 mins, the backside of the Surface pro 7 starts overheating to an uncomfortable temperature. This was the case for the last 2 Surface Pro 7s as well. Their respective lot number was 1945 and 1943. I'm beginning to wonder if this is an issue with this particular batch ... Is there any answers for this?

    Had similar issue as well upgraded from sp4 to sp7 even until today this issue is still not resolved even sending in my hardware for a replacement doesn’t help is just a temporary fix. All suggested solution to reset and wiping the device is just buying time as your warranty starts to run out.

    Have you tried updating your mouse drivers, and rebooted your computer?

    Would be great if any of you here on this thread could report back if the Surface Pro 8 has the same issues, if you get a chance for a hands-on test.

    Now here is something that may help, maybe?

    I had an overheating issue when charging via USB-C since I purchased the Surface 7 PRO in December. The back of it would get above 50 centigrade every time and then take ages to cool down. I was not much bothered with it as was not using it excessively. Now, in June 2021, I had some issues with adding my daughter account to the Surface and after fighting with account recovery etc. I decided to reinstall the windows. So I did the recovery, told it to download a new version from the Internet and.... it no longer heats up as much as before. I can still feel the heat but it's at 34 centigrade. So far so good.

    Can anyone confirm similar behaviour?

    Surface pro 7 i5 ....  gets throttled down to 0.4Mhz,  due to thermal  throttling

    Its overhyped notes taking device.

    Regret not buying apple M1. 

    Windows 10 is very polished OS, but hardware is an afterthought
