I have read many posts and made many attempts to correct this problem without any success.
I was traveling for 3 months and when I returned the battery was completely dead.
Also, each night since my return, the battery drains as much as 12% overnight while shutdown.
I have all MS updates but the problem continues.
Please advise.

I've the same problem, my SP4 was in warranty until last novembere.. and everything was right until then.. Now it suffer this problem... 5% / 10% loss over night
I'm having the same issue. The battery just cannot last through the week even it's completely shut down. This is non issue before but I realize this happened since middle of 2018. I hope Microsoft will rectify this issue ASAP.
I had an SP4 that developed the same battery drain issues. Would select shutdown and battery would drain about 20% - 30% per day. I did several wipes/reinstalls all the troubleshooting. Luckily I was still covered by my Complete warranty and was able to swap it out for a refurb SP4 and it's completely fixed. Will now drain maybe 1-2% per day.
It absolutely is a hardware issue, if you have the opportunity to get it replaced under warranty definitely do it.
Did someone make manual replacement of the battery and succeed to solve the problem?
