I am less and less.surprised about things like this, frankly. The bigger a company gets, the more indifferent they seem to be about customer issues. In this case, they are probably
weighing the cost of a large recall against the slim probability of a class action suit, and rolling the dice.
Back in the early days they walked all over IBM when they opted to develop software rather than hardware, and they are probably regretting their departure from that decision.
Their lack of support seems to point to a retreat from this venture. Lenovo, HP, and others are a better bet at this point.
