Battery Drains While Shutdown

I have read many posts and made many attempts to correct this problem without any success.

I was traveling for 3 months and when I returned the battery was completely dead.

Also, each night since my return, the battery drains as much as 12% overnight while shutdown.

I have all MS updates but the problem continues.

Please advise.

THX! :)

Been looking for a solution for this problem since 2016 and am just tired of it. Sounds like microsoft wants the users to figure out the problem that they created with some update. who wants to own a computer that when you pick it up it is always dead. The best fix for me was to switch to a IPad. It shuts down and keeps it battery right where it was left. I am using the surface pro 4 at the moment hoping a update was released to fix it as I did wast my money on it and would hope to get to use it some day. 2 years later and they still have no answers go figure.

Same here. 7% per 24h of battery drain. Fast start-up is off, conn.standby is off (0), clean Windows 10 1809 installed, battery report does not show any activity when the device is off. It is quite frustrating that MS people do not seem to be interested in solving this problem. This is my 2nd SP4 - it's a replacement unit (had screen problems with the initially-purchased SP4). Both lemons.

I hadn't used my SP4 in a couple of months, and switched it on for the first time a couple of days ago. Surprisingly, it showed the battery at 75% which I didn't think was too bad.

It started doing some windows updates, and within a couple of minutes the battery dropped to around 20% :/

Ran it down, recharged it, and left it sat running on the battery, and the battery lasted for about 11 hours. So something is wrong how it loses so much when completely switched off. It clearly is still doing something

It would be much appreciated if somebody from Microsoft finds some time to help - it seems that this is not an issue caused by users, but by either bad design or production error, which is on the side of MS. So far, MS has failed to offer any constructive advices on how to try to fix the problem.

Hi Barb, my pro 4 even turn off standby connect, over one night, power drain over 50%... By the way, i already turned off fast startup... I reported this issue to microsoft, the answer is no answer, and they just ask for $683 for replace a new one... To me, this totally doesnt make any sense...
