Battery Drains While Shutdown

I guess if it were ME, I'd try a complete wipe and reinstall and not install programs or apps or configure anything at all and compare battery performance. If you want to go this route, here are instructions:

Go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surfacerecoveryimage and download a recovery image for your Surface. You will need a 16GB USB stick formatted FAT32. Unzip/extract the recovery zip to the formatted USB stick and then-

To reset your Surface from a USB recovery drive:

Step 1:        Make sure your Surface is turned off and plugged in (hold down the power button for 30 seconds).

Step 2:         Insert the USB recovery drive into the USB port on your Surface.

Step 3:        Press and hold the volume-down button while you press and release the power button on your Surface.

Step 4:         When the Surface logo appears, release the volume button.

Step 5:        When prompted, select the language and keyboard layout you want.

Step 6:         Select Troubleshoot > Reset your PC.

If prompted for a recovery key, select Skip this drive at the bottom of the screen.

Step 7:         Select the target operating system you wish to reset. This refers to the current operating system installed on your Surface.

Step 8:        Select Yes, repartition the drives, and on the next page, select Next.

Step 9:         Choose Just remove my files.

Step 10:        Select Reset.

Surface restarts and the Surface logo displays while the reset process continues (this can take a while).

I don't work for Microsoft. I can try to "escalate" but lately I have not received replies to emails I send in on customer issues.

In some of the articles I have a suggestion for the Intel management engine driver, I did not make it back to the mentioned driver. what does the barb bowman think about this issue?

Unfortunately driver installation didn't help either. At this point I haven't found any solutions. I simply can't believe Microsoft haven't address this issue as this is quite an expensive product.

benhave same problem, my surface shutdown % 100 evening 18:00 and morning 08:30 % 74 , and if friday 18:00 % 100 shutdown  weekend full drain monday 08:30 open and % 0 ,   if fix plaese step step share here

I realise there are many threads regarding Surface Pro 4 users experiencing severe battery drain issues during shutdown, but does anyone know if Microsoft intends to address this in an update in the near future? I've read that an update fixed it once before but the problem seems to be happening again for a lot of people. 

I got my SP4 in April 2017 and had no issues with it initially. The issue didn't start for me until I installed updates in December 2017 (9% drain while shutdown overnight - or completely flat after being shutdown for 3 days).
